Built in 1853, White Columns is the Kennebunkport Historical Society’s premier property. Owned and loved by the same family for 130 years the Victorian era home has retained its old world charm and still contains the properties original furnishings. The house tour is a step back in time. Docents lead tours through seven rooms of the house while talking about the three generations of the Perkins-Nott Family that lived, loved and lost in this magnificent Greek revival mansion. While the tour does talk about the family that lived in the house, Docents also tell the story of the history of Kennebunkport and the important connection between the house and President Bushes family here in Kennebunport.
The House Opens Memorial Day through Columbus Day and Run Monday through Saturday on the Hour with the First Tour leaving at 10am and the Last Tour leaving at 3pm. Tours can be purchased in our gift shop, no advanced purchase is necessary. The house tour is 30 minutes and include the second floor. White Columns is located at 8 Maine Street in Kennebunkport and is open 10-4pm. There is no onsite parking, free parking is located 1/4 mile from the house at the town lot on North Street.
